essensys, the leading global provider of software and technology to the flexible workspace industry, has appointed Eric Schaffer as CEO, Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Schaffer will spearhead the establishment of essensys’ APAC business and brings extensive industry and in-region experience. The appointment is a milestone in the organization’s ambitious growth plans and continued efforts to increase global market share, as demand for flexible real estate continues to grow.
Schaffer comes to essensys with over a decade of broad real estate expertise, having most recently served as the Head of Real Estate Advisory for APAC for WeWork.
“Launching a market-leading offering in Asia Pacific is an important part of our plan to capture the global flexible workspace opportunity,” said Mark Furness, founder and CEO of essensys. “We are delighted that Eric will lead us in Asia Pacific, where we have exciting ambitions to become market-leader. His deep experience and extensive network across APAC will be of great value as we build our presence in the region.”
Prior to WeWork, Schaffer co-founded Core Capital Asia, a boutique investment advisory firm focused on Chinese and North American property markets. He has also held senior leadership positions at multiple firms, including Cushman & Wakefield. In those roles he structured and led over $2B USD of real estate transactions.
“I’m thrilled to join essensys and drive the Group’s expansion in Asia Pacific, a region where there is a significant growth opportunity and obvious product market fit,” said Schaffer. “Software and technology are key to delivering the real estate solutions that occupiers are now demanding and I look forward to working with a visionary team to help enable landlords and workspace providers to embrace this growing opportunity.”
