What counts as a door?+
A door is any indoor, door-controlled space fitted with an elumo Reader — such as a meeting room, private office or entrance. The usual setup is one Reader and one Hub per door.
What’s the difference between an access door and a bookable door?+
An access door uses elumo for identity, permissions, wallet passes and a complete tap audit trail. A bookable door includes all of that, plus live availability, tap-to-book, booking-platform sync and automated charges. You can mix both types in one site and pay the bookable upgrade only on the doors that need it.
What contract length does elumo come with?+
With purchased hardware, software runs on a 12-month agreement billed annually in advance at 11 months for a 12-month term. Opex runs on a 3-year contract: base subscriptions, Wireless Lock upgrades and committed bookable doors are billed annually in advance with one month free, while overage bookable doors are billed monthly in arrears. All Opex hardware remains the property of essensys and must be returned at the end of the contract.
Can we add doors mid-contract?+
Yes. A pro-rated annual base or bookable-door subscription is charged. New Opex-only hardware is added at renewal unless add-on hardware is paid for when ordered. Contact sales for volume pricing from 50 doors.
How is our data handled and secured?+
essensys has a SOC 2 Type II report. elumo data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controlled according to each user’s permissions.
