In shared and flexible office environments, occupiers rely on space providers to deliver essential services that keep them connected and productive. As corporate and enterprise demand for flex-space grows, tech security will become an even more critical component when providing peace of mind and a premium member experience.

Enterprise-grade Standards

The latest Infobrief from global research and advisory firm, IDC, identifies security, privacy, and compliance as increasing concerns for space providers. The IDC Future of Work practice interviewed senior leaders of leading workspace brands to uncover best practices for a solid proposition foundation.

Many enterprise organizations have strict IT requirements and simply won’t take space unless you can meet their specific needs. IDC cites established companies in government, finance, and emerging industries such as med-tech and fintech as flex-space adopters with stringent security and IT requirements.

When it comes to security, according to their research, operators of flexible workspaces “don’t always have a clear picture of where security and compliance breaches might come from”. To stay ahead of the curve and deliver business-grade services with confidence, they look to a trusted technologies and partners with specialized capabilities in IT and risk assessment.

Converged Systems to Enable Security

Whether SMB or corporate occupier, tenants adopting flexible workspaces will have a wide range of needs to accommodate their specific business and IT standards. From third-party audits and network security to business continuity and access control, security and compliance needs are continually evolving. It is critical for space providers not only to deliver services quickly and efficiently but also to de-risk their operation with the right tools to support the flex business model.

Participants in IDC’s research agreed that converged systems can enable secure and reliable services in a way that removes the inherent complexity of running a flex-space operation. A private network and cloud infrastructure support the secure and reliable delivery of enterprise-grade services and foster confidence in a premium flex-space proposition. A platform that digitally enables scalability can unlock value for multi-site and multi-regional operators that serve the needs of a growing occupier market.
